Jenzer Motorsport's Simon Trummer landed heavily in a crash on the second lap of Race 2. Trummer was admitted to Ludwigshafen Hospital and was diagnosed with a fracture to his third vertebrae.
The Swiss driver is flying to the Insel Hospital in Bern today for further checks, but after initial examinations in Germany it appears that thankfully his injury are not as bad as expected, and he could be back racing as soon as next weekend.
Also injured in Race 2 was Manor Racing’s James Jakes. The Briton damaged the ligaments in his right arm after a crash with Josef Newgarden and will hopefully know after surgery today if he is able to race at the next round.
GP3 would like to wish both drivers a quick recovery and we hope to see them back on the track soon.
